ALBUM PROJECTS

The Dreams of a Sleeping World

The Dreams of a Sleeping World is a 10-movement work for symphony orchestra with choir & woodwind soloist, inspired by the paintings of Japanese-Brazilian artist Oscar Oiwa and using poetry from around the world. Commissioned by the Barlow Endowment, the piece had its premiere in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2017 with virtuoso Mate Bekavac and conductor Vladimir Kulenovic. This album is a self-produced studio recording from 2018 with Vladimir Kulenovic and the Hollywood Studio Symphony (the informal name for LA union studio musicians), the Salt Lake Singers (conducted by Benjamin Salisbury), and soloists Andrew Lowy, Phil O’Connor, and Chris Bleth. Available on all major streaming platforms.

THE HUMAN ENTERPRISE

I’m currently working on my second studio album, The Human Enterprise, which uses photographs of the Arctic & Antarctic taken by adventure photographer Christopher Michel. The music is a combination of electronics, sound design, and chamber orchestra, and explores our relationship with the unknown. I have done field recordings on the glaciers of Mt Tahoma (Rainier), documenting the melting ice in Sept 2021 following one of the worst heat waves the Pacific Northwest has ever seen. I also faced my extreme fear of heights, which I feel unlocked something new in my own personal human journey. I am excited to share this music sometime in 2023, but here are some sketches to give you a sense of the artistic direction
